Fundraiser for Attorney Cox and Uniting NYS 3 pm – 7 pm
Saturday April 22nd 3 pm – 7 pm
Fundraiser and community gathering for Attorney Bobby Ann Cox.
O-Neh-Da Vineyard will be opening for an informal gathering of people who share a strong aversion to the compulsory quarantine regulations promulgated through the NYS Health Department. A lawsuit is ongoing which challenges the lawfulness of this regulation and funds are needed to continue the legal work, so we are hosting a letter-writing/fundraising party. We will have form letters, a computer and printer to write custom letters, and will be collecting contributions for the legal fund to continue the lawsuit.
Your help is urgently needed to stop the NYSDOH from taking away all of our constitutional and God-given human rights with their Regulation 10 NYCRR 2.13 “Isolation and Quarantine.” This would allow anyone suspected of spreading disease to be prevented from leaving their home, or worse, to be taken away for quarantine and solitary confinement at an unknown facility for an indeterminate period. There is no age limit, so your child or your elderly relative could be removed. There is no requirement to prove you have the disease. You are denied due process, by which your case could be presented in court. This regulation, quietly put on the books since early in 2022 by Governor Hochul, would override a long-standing NYDOH regulation that does grant these rights.
Uniting NYS, under the leadership of Attorney Bobbie Ann Cox, Esq. is conducting a lawsuit against Governor Hochul and the NYSDOH for this dangerous regulation. It was courageously initiated by NYS Senator George Borrello, and Assemblymen Tague and Lawler. Uniting NYS won at the NYS Supreme Court level in June, based on the lack of constitutionality of the regulation and its violation of the separation of powers. However, the Governor and Attorney General James have since appealed the decision, so the fight is far from over.
